Radio Caroline breaches Ofcom over erroneous King Charles death announcements

Radio Caroline breached Ofcom rules by erroneously announcing King Charles III’s death during a May broadcast; three pre-recorded obituary messages aired before a correction and apology 30 minutes later. Ofcom called the incident a very significant inaccuracy on a matter of high public interest. The error arose when staff accessed obituary files for posthumous use and panicked when it aired; the station—mostly volunteer-run—reprimanded the staffer and moved the files to prevent recurrence.
