Tesla's Self-Driving Woes Continue Despite Radar Removal

According to a new report, some Tesla engineers tried to convince Elon Musk not to remove radar from its Autopilot and self-driving effort. The engineers were concerned that without radar, Teslas would be susceptible to basic perception errors if the cameras were obscured by raindrops or even bright sunlight, problems that could lead to crashes. However, Musk overruled them and removed the radar. The report also claimed that Musk had Tesla Autopilot engineers work on Twitter, which is concerning given that Tesla is years behind its self-driving promises.
