Wegmans Sets Opening Date for First Manhattan Store

The first Wegmans grocery store in Manhattan is set to open on October 18th. The two-story, 87,500-square-foot store will feature a Japanese restaurant, sushi counter, Champagne and oyster bar, and a variety of prepared foods. The location, housed in a historic building, has been a significant undertaking. Wegmans has been expanding into the New York market as other grocers have downsized or closed.
