Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced former CEO of Theranos, is set to report to a federal prison in Bryan, Texas, where she will serve an 11-year sentence for overseeing a blood-testing scam. Holmes, who was convicted on four felony counts of fraud and conspiracy, will leave behind two young children. She had been free on bail since her conviction in January 2022. Holmes and her former partner, Ramesh "Sunny" Balwani, promised to revolutionize healthcare with a technology that could quickly scan for diseases with a few drops of blood. However, serious flaws in the technology were exposed, leading to the collapse of the company.
