Former USPS carrier pleads guilty after 14,700 pieces of mail found in locker

A former United States Postal Service letter carrier from Hull pleaded guilty in Boston federal court to one count of obstruction of mail after about 14,700 pieces addressed to customers on routes in Brighton, Dorchester, and Mattapan were recovered from a storage locker when he stopped paying rent. The items included passports, jury notifications, government checks, education documents, and immigration paperwork. Turner, who worked for USPS from 2022 to 2025, rented the Weymouth locker; sentencing will be scheduled, with a maximum penalty of six months in prison, up to a year of supervised release, and a $5,000 fine.
