Four Arrested in $80M Cryptocurrency Scam Involving 'Pig Butchering' Scheme

Four individuals, Lu Zhang, Justin Walker, Joseph Wong, and Hailong Zhu, have been charged with running an $80 million "pig butchering" scheme, where they allegedly cold-called victims through dating apps and social media platforms to gain their trust and convince them to invest in cryptocurrency. The defendants are accused of using unsolicited messages and calls, presenting themselves as innocent contacts before stealing money. They have been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, concealment money laundering, and international money laundering.
