Wife of Alaska Airlines pilot accused of endangering flight expresses shock and disbelief

The wife of Joseph Emerson, the off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot accused of attempting to crash a plane after taking magic mushrooms, insists that he "never would have knowingly" tried to harm anyone on the flight. Emerson pleaded not guilty to 83 counts of attempted murder and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. His wife stated that he was struggling with depression but would never intentionally do anything like this. Emerson's lawyer claims that his client did not intend to harm himself or others and was not suicidal or homicidal. Emerson is being held without bail on state charges and is scheduled for his next court appearance on November 22.
