Pro Bono Lawyer Steps Down as White Case Unfolds After Courthouse Shooting
Aviance Brown withdrew as Gwendolyn White’s pro bono attorney on the day White appeared for a hearing about police body-worn camera footage. White is charged with attempted murder after shooting two attorneys at the Wake County courthouse. Brown said the hearing was solely about the footage and not White’s claims about her late mother’s care, and a judge granted Brown’s withdrawal, with a new attorney to be appointed for White who remains jailed.
