Major Companies Including BA, BBC, and Boots Suffer Cyber Attacks

The BBC, British Airways, Boots, and Aer Lingus are among the growing number of organizations affected by a mass hack that targeted the MOVEit Transfer tool. The cybercriminals broke into the software to gain access to multiple companies in one go, and personal data, including national insurance numbers and bank details, may have been stolen. No ransom demands have been made public yet, but it is expected that cybercriminals will begin emailing affected organizations to demand payment. The National Cyber Security Centre is monitoring the situation and urging organizations to carry out security updates.
