Comcast, the internet, voice, and cable TV provider, discovered unauthorized access to its internal systems between October 16 and October 19, affecting an estimated 35.9 million people. The potentially stolen customer data includes usernames, hashed passwords, names, contact information, the last four digits of Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and secret questions and answers. Xfinity is urging customers to reset their passwords and enable two- or multi-factor authentication.
