Russian State Actors Breach HPE's Security Team's Email Accounts

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has revealed that suspected Russian hackers, known as Midnight Blizzard, breached its Microsoft Office 365 email environment in May 2023, gaining access to data from its cybersecurity team and other departments. The breach is believed to be related to a previous incident in May 2023, and HPE is working with external cybersecurity experts and law enforcement to investigate the matter. This disclosure comes after Microsoft reported a similar breach by Midnight Blizzard, involving data theft from its corporate email accounts. HPE has stated that there has been no operational impact on its business and that the incident is not likely to have a material financial impact.
