Lawsuit alleges Southwest Airlines suspected white mother of trafficking Black daughter

A White mother is suing Southwest Airlines for racial discrimination after she was accused of human trafficking when traveling with her Black daughter. The lawsuit alleges that a Southwest employee called the Denver Police Department to report the mother for suspected child trafficking based solely on the difference in skin color between her and her daughter. Denver police officers confronted the mother and daughter, causing them extreme emotional distress. The mother is seeking damages for emotional distress, mental anguish, suffering, and inconvenience. Southwest Airlines has not commented on the pending litigation.
