Chemical Giants Settle for $1.2B in 'Forever Chemical' Lawsuits.

Chemical companies Chemours, DuPont, and Corteva have agreed to pay over $1 billion to settle claims that "forever chemicals" contaminated public US water systems. The chemicals, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), are found in everyday products and can cause serious health problems. The settlement fund will be contributed by the three companies, with Chemours contributing 50%, and DuPont and Corteva contributing the remaining 50%. The companies are facing thousands of lawsuits from across the country alleging the toxic chemicals were utilized in manufacturing and then polluted the environment.
