Consumer Reports Ranks Buy Now, Pay Later Apps

Consumer Reports analyzed eight popular buy now, pay later (BNPL) services and found that some apps don't clearly disclose fees, collect unnecessary user data, and offer few privacy settings. PayPal came out on top with a score of 89 out of 100, while Zilch scored the lowest with 70. Despite concerns, most consumers are happy with BNPL apps, with 86% of users saying they were satisfied with the service. Consumer advocates warn users to read the fine print, monitor their accounts regularly, and opt-out of data sharing to minimize risk.
