New York City has the highest concentration of millionaires in the world, with 340,000 residents worth $1 million or more, according to a report by Henley & Partners. Tokyo and San Francisco Bay Area follow in second and third place, respectively. The US and China dominate the list of cities with the fastest-growing millionaire populations over the past decade. The world's ultra-wealthy lost a combined $10tn, or 10%, from their net worth in 2022, driven by global economic uncertainty, the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine.
