Midsize US Banks Request FDIC Insurance for All Deposits for 2 Years

The Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America (MBCA) has requested the US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to extend insurance on all deposits for the next two years, proposing that the insurance program be funded by the banks themselves. The MBCA argued that this would stabilize the banking industry and reduce the chances of more bank failures.
