Aldi Supermarkets Issue Public Health Alert for Contaminated Raw Beef Product

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for a raw beef product sold at Aldi supermarkets nationwide due to concerns of foreign matter contamination. The alert was issued after soft, clear plastic was discovered in the product. Although a recall was not requested as the product is no longer available in stores, consumers are advised to check their refrigerators or freezers and either throw away or return the affected product. No injuries or illnesses have been reported so far.
