Colorado jalapeño outbreak prompts fast-casual pepper recalls at Qdoba and Chipotle

Colorado reports 110 Salmonella cases linked to jalapeño peppers used by Qdoba and Chipotle (six hospitalizations); nationwide, 345 cases across 27 states with 36 hospitalizations. The jalapeños, grown in Sinaloa, Mexico and distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors, are being recalled and the chains have stopped serving the peppers.
