Costco recalls frozen fruit over Hepatitis A contamination risk

Wawona Frozen Foods has issued a voluntary recall on year-old, 4-pound packages of its Organic DayBreak Blend frozen fruit, sold at Costco Wholesale stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah and Washington, due to potential contamination with Hepatitis A. Consumers are urged to check their freezers for the recalled blend, not to consume it and either discard the product or return it to the store for a refund. There have been no reported illnesses as of time of publication. Hepatitis A is a vaccine-preventable liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus, which can remain active in frozen foods.
