Willamette Valley Fruit Co. has issued a recall for packages of frozen fruit sold at Walmart, Costco, and HEB stores around the nation due to potential hepatitis A contamination. The affected products contain strawberries grown in Mexico and have not been tied to any illnesses yet. The FDA and CDC are investigating the multi-state outbreak of infections linked to frozen organic strawberries imported from certain farms in Baja California, Mexico. Consumers are urged to discard or return the products. Symptoms of hepatitis A include fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, jaundice, dark urine, and pale stool.
