Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Flour Sends 3 to Hospital

A multistate outbreak of salmonella infections tied to flour has hospitalized three people and infected a dozen people in 11 states, according to the CDC. Most people who fell ill reported eating raw dough or batter made with flour, which is often raw and untreated to kill germs that cause food poisoning. Health officials cautioned that the true number of illnesses is "likely much higher" than what's been reported, and they are still working to determine the specific brand of flour linked to the illnesses.
