UAW President Optimistic as Strike Expansion is Avoided

General Motors and Stellantis may have averted an expansion of the strike by matching Ford's initial wage offer. Talks have accelerated, with GM offering a 23% increase and Ford offering a cost-of-living allowance. The union is also negotiating the conversion of temporary workers to full-time positions and better pension benefits.
