Child labor violations found at Kentucky McDonald's locations

A US Department of Labor investigation found child labor violations at three McDonald's locations in Kentucky, including two 10-year-olds working unpaid until 2am. The franchisees were fined $212,754 for employing 305 children who worked more than legally permitted hours and performed prohibited job tasks. The violations impacted 14- and 15-year-olds who worked outside of permitted hours and exceeded daily and weekly limits during school days and weeks. The news comes as states across the US have relaxed child labor laws. McDonald's franchises have faced several recent cases of child labor violations.
