Utah Man Strikes Gold with $3 Million Idaho Lottery Win

J. Refugio Gonzalez Almeida, a Utah resident, won $3 million in the Mega Millions lottery on his birthday but didn't find out for a month. Almeida, who regularly plays the lottery, purchased tickets for the Fourth of July weekend and one of them matched the first five numbers, tripling his $1 million prize with the Megaplier feature. Unaware of his win, he returned to Idaho a month later to check his tickets and was informed by a worker to take his ticket to the state's lottery commission. Almeida plans to invest his winnings.
