"Billions in Grants and Loans: Intel's Big Win for Chip Plant Construction"

President Biden announced $8.5 billion in grants to Intel to support the construction and expansion of semiconductor facilities in Arizona, Ohio, New Mexico, and Oregon, as part of an effort to rebuild the nation’s semiconductor manufacturing industry. The grants, the largest under the CHIPS Act, aim to reduce America’s reliance on foreign countries for semiconductor production and create thousands of new manufacturing jobs. Additionally, Intel is expected to receive up to $11 billion in loans and federal tax credits to cover a portion of its U.S. expansion projects.
