Chicago Real Estate Mogul Faces $15 Million in Unpaid Rat-Related Tickets

A group of real estate companies managed by Suzie B. Wilson, a woman from Northbrook, Illinois, has accumulated over $15 million in fines from rat-related tickets tied to hundreds of properties, many of them vacant lots, throughout the South and West sides of Chicago. These fines were issued for municipal infractions such as uncut weeds, dumping, and providing rat harborage. The companies, registered to a single post office box in Glenview, were acquired through tax and scavenger sales. Despite legal proceedings and massive debt, Wilson has managed to keep a low profile. The Chicago Transportation Authority is suing one of Wilson's companies for a vacant lot needed for a project.
