Amazon Fights Back Against EU Digital Content Law

Amazon has filed a petition with the EU's General Court to challenge the European Commission's decision to designate it as a "very large online platform" (VLOP) under the Digital Services Act (DSA). The company argues that it doesn't meet the requirements to be classified as a VLOP and claims that it is being unfairly targeted by the legislation. The DSA imposes strict rules on VLOPs regarding transparency, content moderation, and risk management. Amazon contends that its retail business makes up most of its revenue and that it isn't the largest retailer in any EU country where it operates. Other companies, including Zalando, have also pursued legal action against the EU over their VLOP classification.
