Amazon's Project Kuiper Takes Flight: Launching Test Satellites to Challenge Starlink

Amazon has launched the first pair of prototype satellites for its global internet service, Project Kuiper, as it aims to rival SpaceX's Starlink. The prototypes were successfully deployed into orbit and are in contact with Amazon's mission center. If the test satellites perform well, Amazon plans to deploy 3,236 more satellites in the coming years to offer broadband internet globally. Other competitors in the satellite internet space include Telesat, Eutelsat's OneWeb, and China's GuoWang constellation. Amazon has not yet revealed the pricing for its internet service.
