AT&T is notifying 7.6 million current customers and 65.4 million former customers about a massive data leak, including stolen passcodes and sensitive personal information such as names, addresses, birth dates, account numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, and social security numbers. The company claims there was no unauthorized access to its systems resulting in the theft of the data set, which was obtained several years ago. AT&T is initiating passcode resets and offering complimentary identity theft and credit monitoring services for affected individuals.
