China Bars Some Micron Purchases Over Security Concerns

China's Cyberspace Administration has announced that Micron Technology's products have failed its network security review, posing significant risks to China's critical information infrastructure supply chain and national security. As a result, operators of critical information infrastructure will be required to stop procuring from Micron. Micron derives around 10% of its revenue from China, but it is not clear if the decision affects the company's sales to non-Chinese customers in the country. The review and decision on Micron comes amid a spat over chip technology between Washington and Beijing, during which the US has imposed a series of export controls on chipmaking technology to China and blacklisted Chinese firms.
