China's ChatGPT clones: A.I. edge over U.S.?

Chinese tech giants are launching their own chatbots to rival ChatGPT, the AI chatbot developed by US firm OpenAI. Baidu has launched Ernie Bot, while Alibaba is rolling out Tongyi Qianwen. However, these chatbots will be subject to Beijing's strict censorship regime and regulations governing the development of AI. Chinese chatbots are expected to look different from their Western counterparts, with some reportedly shutting down questions on sensitive topics.
