Google has agreed to pay $23 million to settle a class-action lawsuit that accused it of sharing search details with third-party sites from 2006 to 2013. Anyone who clicked on a Google search result link during that time is entitled to a payout, estimated to be less than $8 per person. Google has admitted no wrongdoing but is required to update its frequently-asked-questions page and its “key terms” page to disclose how search queries can be shared with third parties. Users have until July 31 to submit their full name, street address, and email address to file a claim.
