Facebook users in the US who used the platform between May 2007 and December 2022 can claim a portion of the $725m settlement between Meta and users who alleged the company shared their personal data without proper consent. To claim, users need to provide contact information, their Facebook account details, complete an eligibility check, and indicate how they would like to be paid. The deadline to submit a claim is August 25th, 2023. The final approval hearing is scheduled for September 7th, and payments will be mailed out after the court grants final approval and any appeals are sorted out.
