Clay chip plant milestone: Micron pours foundation ahead of schedule

Local, state and federal leaders attended the concrete foundation pour for Micron’s first Clay fabrication plant, a milestone the company says arrived sooner than planned. The project is moving ahead of schedule, with construction on the second of four fabs planned for 2028; once complete, the site is expected to be the largest chip plant in the United States, with manufacturing beginning around 2029–2030 and full completion anticipated by the early 2040s.
