GitHub Copilot will move from its Premium Request Unit model to a usage-based, token-based system beginning June 1, 2026, using monthly AI Credits tied to token consumption; base subscription prices stay the same for now (Copilot Pro $10/mo, Pro+ $39/mo) and Enterprise/Business retain pricing while adding monthly credits, with promotional credits for June–August and pooled org credits to reduce stranded capacity. Once credits run out, users can’t continue typical usage unless more credits are purchased. A May preview will show projected costs before the June bills.
