Elon Musk revealed in an interview with Tucker Carlson that the US government had "full access" to direct, private messages sent through Twitter, including people's DMs. Musk also warned of the dangers of artificial intelligence, saying that it has the potential for civilizational destruction. Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion last fall and laid off more than 70% of the company's employees. He sought to expose the company's previous management for its ties to government agencies, which demanded that certain content be flagged and even banned. Musk is also putting together a team of engineers to create a generative AI project that would compete with ChatGPT and its creator, OpenAI.
