Threads, which recently reached 100 million sign-ups in just five days, has similarities to Twitter but lacks certain features like direct messaging and a desktop version. Twitter has threatened to sue Meta, the parent company of Threads, for allegedly using trade secrets. Despite its rapid growth, Threads still has a long way to go to catch up to Twitter's user base of nearly 240 million monetizable daily active users.
