OpenAI publicly responded to a lawsuit from co-founder Elon Musk by reproducing old emails in which Musk urged the startup to raise $1 billion in funding and not share its science with the public. Musk's lawsuit alleges that OpenAI's GPT-4 AI model is a secret driven by commercial purpose, not safety. The lawsuit also claims that OpenAI deviated from its original mission.
