Elon Musk's Turbulent Relationship with OpenAI and AI Technology

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman defended his organization against Elon Musk's criticism of popular chatbot ChatGPT and its maker, OpenAI, during an interview on the “On With Kara Swisher” podcast. Altman called Musk a "jerk" and said that most of Musk's claims about OpenAI were not true. Musk was reportedly "furious" about ChatGPT's success and had offered to lead OpenAI, but was turned down. Musk had also criticized OpenAI's change from a pure non-profit to one that also has a for-profit arm and has a big investor in Microsoft. Despite the criticism, Altman thinks Musk still cares about creating a "good future" of artificial general intelligence.
