Elon Musk has reportedly purchased around 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) for Twitter to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) project involving a large language model (LLM). The project is still in its early stages, but Musk is said to be committed to its development. Musk has criticized generative AI, but his project could potentially be used to improve search or advertising on Twitter. The GPUs are expected to operate from one of Twitter's two remaining data-center sites, most likely the one in Atlanta.
