Epic Games and Apple's App Store dispute heads to Supreme Court

Epic Games has filed a writ of certiorari with the US Supreme Court, seeking a review of a lower court ruling in its antitrust case against Apple. Epic argues that Apple unfairly monopolizes the mobile app space with its iOS and in-app purchasing system, making billions on commissions. Apple has also filed an argument asking the Supreme Court to throw out the order requiring changes to its App Store rules. The companies' dispute dates back to a 2021 ruling that required Apple to remove policies banning developers from informing users about other payment options. Both sides appealed the decision, and an appeals court ruling in April was largely seen as a victory for Apple.
