Google Faces Class-Action Lawsuit for Alleged AI Data Scraping

The lawsuit, filed by eight individuals seeking to represent millions of internet users and copyright holders, alleges that Google's unauthorized scraping of data from websites violates privacy and property rights. Similar complaints have been filed against Microsoft and OpenAI. The plaintiffs are requesting that Google allow users to opt out of data collection, delete existing data, or provide fair compensation to data owners. The lawsuit claims that Google could owe at least $5 billion. Google's general counsel stated that the company uses data from public sources responsibly and in line with their AI principles.
