Google's AI Warnings and Challenges in the Industry

Alphabet Inc has cautioned its employees about the use of chatbots, including its own Bard, due to concerns about data privacy and security. The company has advised employees not to enter confidential materials into AI chatbots, citing long-standing policy on safeguarding information. Alphabet has also alerted its engineers to avoid direct use of computer code that chatbots can generate. The concerns reflect what’s becoming a security standard for corporations, namely to warn personnel about using publicly-available chat programs.
