Intel and Synopsys Strengthen Partnership to Enhance Foundry Services

Intel and Synopsys have announced a strategic partnership to develop a portfolio of intellectual property (IP) for the Intel 3 and 18A process nodes. The agreement, which is not exclusive, strengthens Intel Foundry Services' (IFS) position as a major semiconductor foundry player by engaging top IP and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) vendors. The partnership allows IFS customers to have access to IP from multiple vendors, while also providing Synopsys with ready access to Intel's bleeding-edge semiconductor process. The agreement is characterized as a multi-year, multi-generational partnership, with the potential for extension to future process nodes beyond Intel 18A.
