Meta unveils "sanely run" Twitter competitor, taunts Elon Musk.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is reportedly developing a standalone app codenamed Project93, which could be called Threads, to rival Twitter. The app aims to provide a "sanely run" platform for public figures and creators, with the Dalai Lama and Oprah Winfrey among the target users. The app will integrate with ActivityPub, allowing users to take their accounts and followers to other apps supported by the technology. The app is based on Instagram and will offer safety, ease of use, and reliability, according to Meta's chief product officer, Chris Cox.
