Microsoft Overtakes Google in AI Race, Goldman Sachs Strategist Says

Google had a "Kodak moment" last year when it came to artificial intelligence, giving rival Microsoft an edge with the technology, according to Cyrus Mewawalla, head of thematic intelligence at GlobalData. Mewawalla said that "Microsoft is currently winning this race in AI" due to its investment in OpenAI. While Google has been investing in AI for years, it has not brought its strong AI technology into products fast enough, as Microsoft has done. However, Alphabet is accelerating efforts around commercializing the technology behind AI chatbots, known as large language models.
