Microsoft's Unbundling of Teams Software in Europe Addresses EU Concerns

Microsoft has announced that it will unbundle its chat and videoconference service, Teams, from its Microsoft 365 productivity suite in response to European Union (EU) antitrust concerns. Starting from October 1, Microsoft will sell the packages without Teams at a discounted price in the European Economic Area and Swiss regions. The EU had opened an antitrust investigation into Microsoft's bundling of Teams with other Office products, citing concerns about anti-competitive practices. Microsoft has pledged to enhance interoperability with its productivity suites and competing offerings, as well as host Office web applications within other apps and services.
