OpenAI rolls out GPT-5.6 trio and ChatGPT Work for enterprise tasks

OpenAI released GPT-5.6 in three flavors—Sol, Luna, and Terra—with an ultra mode for Sol, and introduced ChatGPT Work, an AI assistant that pulls context from connected apps and files to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations across Mac, Windows, and web; the rollout followed a government request to delay and, amid fierce competition with Anthropic and others, the models are being praised for reliability on regular tasks, even as some testers prefer rival Fable in certain areas.
