Tesla workers shared personal videos from customers' cars.

Tesla employees reportedly shared and made fun of private videos recorded by vehicle cameras, including graphic crashes and embarrassing scenes, via the company's internal messaging systems from 2019 through 2022. Some videos may have been recorded when vehicles were turned off, allowing employees to see inside people's garages and private properties. After an investigation by the Dutch Data Protection Authority, Tesla turned off its vehicles' cameras by default in 2023. Tesla's Sentry Mode has raised privacy concerns in other countries, including Germany and China.
