Tesla's Radar Removal Leads to Increased Crashes and Resistance from Engineers.

Elon Musk overruled Tesla engineers who warned him that removing radar from Tesla cars would be problematic, leading to an uptick in crashes and near misses. Musk's erratic leadership and push to release software before it was ready also played a role in the unpolished releases of Autopilot and Full Self-Driving features. Some former Tesla employees say the software still isn't safe for public road use. Tesla has since added a new high-resolution radar and more cameras to its latest models.
